About the PHQ-9

The Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) is a widely used, validated tool for screening and measuring depression severity. It consists of nine questions based on the diagnostic criteria for major depressive disorder in the DSM-IV.

Score Interpretation:

  • 0-4: Minimal depression
  • 5-9: Mild depression
  • 10-14: Moderate depression
